Zonas especiais de interesse social em Fortaleza: desafios na consolidação da ZEIS do grande Mucuripe

Abstract

This work aims to explore the nuances of Special Zones of Social Interest (ZEIS) through the lens of the urbanization process. It will present an analysis of the implementation of Special Zones of Social Interest in the city of Fortaleza, its process of realization, and the circumstances surrounding its development up to the present day, with emphasis on the case of Zeis Mucuripe and the challenges it faces daily. The study will highlight the ongoing struggle to ensure the effective right to adequate housing and the right to the city, focusing particularly on the social function of property and the social function of the city. It will examine the establishment of zoning in the Greater Mucuripe area, the protection of coastal housing provided by this zoning, and the importance of popular participation in the fight for these rights.
