O impacto financeiro da pandemia de COVID-19 no mercado de odontologia brasileiro: um estudo de caso no grupo ODONTOPREV

Abstract

This work addresses the impact of the scenario imposed by the Covid-19 virus pandemic on the Brazilian dentistry market, graphically and statistically evaluating the variables involved in the problem. The main objective was to shed light on the Brazilian dentistry market within the actuarial science scenario, as well as evaluate the economic and financial variables of the Odontoprev group, and evaluate whether variables related to the pandemic offer any type of interference in the numbers referring to the group in the pandemic time frame. To achieve the objective of the work, two data analysis tools were used: Power BI, which uses Business Intelligence in its scope; and Orange Data Mining, which is data mining and analysis software, mainly used in machine learning. In the first tool, a graphical analysis was carried out to understand the behavior of the variables in the Odontoprev group; in the second tool, a statistical analysis was carried out, comparing models, evaluating which best fits the data, and thus, through the coefficient of determination, understanding the impact that the variables related to the pandemic have on the variables of the Odontoprev group. After the analysis, it was concluded that there was an impact of the pandemic period on the growth of numbers referring to the economic growth of the Odontoprev group in the period in question, through graphical analyzes and coefficient of determination analysis.
