Abstract: | Objective: This research analyzed in vitro the antifungal activity of the solution composed by grapes seed extract Vitis vinifera (Doctor’s A-Z®) against Candida albicans (ATCC 20231) species aiming to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum fungicide concentration (MFC). Methods: To that, were used micro dilution boards of 96 wells where the strain of Candida. Was tested the diluted solutions in distilled water on the concentrations 0.20 g/mL, 0.30 g/mL and 0.40 g/mL. As growing control were used growing fungous, to test the viability of the strains. As positive control, was used nystatin (commercial suspension 100,000 UI/mL) and as sterility control of growing way. The tests were conducted in triplicate and the data obtained were analyzed through the exam Kruskal-Wallis, with significance level of 95% (p<0.05). Results: The results indicated that all the samples were sensible to the analyzed extract and the CIM was obtained with the solution of 0.30 g/mL (30%). However, wasn’t observed a fungicid effect (MFC) on the tested concentrations. Conclusion: We conclude that the grapes seed extract can be an alternative against the gender Candida, however are necessary larger studies to prove their ant fungous action. |
