As narrações caticinais d’a Fita Branca de Michael Haneke para que haja o fascismo

Abstract

Marilena Chauí warns about the proto-fascist movement that is taking over the Brazilian political agenda. There is currently a strong conservative and liberal trend in global politics. In this context, the study sought to understand the current reconfigurations of social relations and the respective conflicts that emerge from relations engaged in politics, management, and consumption. To address this issue, the following research objective was adopted: to identify the prophetic narratives in The White Ribbon by Michael Haneke that make fascism possible. This research is an opportunity to identify in Haneke’s The White Ribbon elements related to Peter Sloterdijk’s concept of contemporary cynicism and, at the same time, fascism within the current configuration of conservative political relations observed in Europe, the USA, Latin America, and Brazil. In The White Ribbon, within relations of power, one can observe an enlightened false consciousness directly connected to fascist acts, such as: the libidinal factor of subjects, with respect to the high degree of tension and repression (Reichian perspective); the imaginary identification of subjects with charismatic and paternal authority (Freudian perspective); and the symbolic identification among subjects through the recognition of similarities in traits between them, a matter of constructing semblances
