Prótese fixa e fluxo digital em dentes anteriores: um panorama atual da literatura

Abstract

Working with a digital flow has become a very important component in dental offices, with a view to saving time in the care of each patient and completing the rehabilitation treatment in a smaller number of clinical sessions. New technologies such as facial scanning and dental software have improved the current workflow. Digital files can create a three-dimensional virtual image of a patient, helping the clinician to plan treatment and make decisions, reducing uncertainties and improving their communication with the laboratory, patient and other professionals. Therefore, the objective of this work is to review the available literature on fixed prostheses and digital flow in anterior tooth rehabilitations, listing their main advantages for previous aesthetic cases. This is a descriptive and analytical study of bibliographic review, carried out through research in the Pubmed and Bireme/BVS databases between the years 2003 and 2023, using the descriptors “Computer-Aided Design'',” Dental prosthesis'', “Workflow '' and their synonyms. 175 articles were found in Pubmed and 24 articles in Bireme/BVS. After bibliographical analysis, 42 articles were selected to compose the work. Having as inclusion criteria: articles from the last 10 years, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and case reports with good bibliographical contextualization and exclusion: articles with lack of agreement with the objective of the work. It was observed that the digital flow to which it is possible to have a real preview of the future definitive restorations significantly improved the predictability of the treatment and the communication with the patient in comparison with the traditional methods. In this way, it is concluded that the digital workflow is a valid way of working for the present day, since it provides a digitalization and visualization of the parts in real time, providing the patient with a virtual explanation with a preview of their rehabilitation.
