Sonifica: acervo colaborativo multimídia sobre as memórias sonoras e vivências do ICA Pici

Abstract

This study aims to present a collaborative multimedia archive project, titled Sonifica, focused on the experiences of the community of the Institute of Culture and Art (ICA) at the Federal University of Ceará, located on the Pici campus. The project seeks to preserve the collective memory and amplify the voices of students and faculty members of the programs that comprise ICA. Within the theoretical framework, concepts of memory, place and sound landscape will be explored to guide and substantiate the practical decisions of the project. Additionally, a mixed-methods research approach was employed, utilizing surveys and a focus group to collect data, opinions, and archival materials that were used in the development of the project's outputs. As a result, a virtual tour was created as the primary product, housing and displaying the archive's materials, alongside a zine that serves as a physical companion to the tour, as well as a stopper and an Instagram account, which function as external and digital promotional tools, respectively. Ultimately, the produced items effectively present an auditory memory of the institute, though they do not provide a direct or immediate measure of the process's effectiveness. Nevertheless, they represent a viable alternative for preserving and disseminating these memories.
