| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | O conceito de território e seu pleno esclarecimento junto às comunidades indígenas tem contribuído para uma melhor organização dessas populações na busca de melhores alternativas para a gestão ambiental das Terras Indígenas. O artigo trabalha no sentido de revelar as principais concepções do território, principalmente no que corresponde à percepção indígena sobre suas próprias terras, a necessidade de demarcá-las de forma institucional e respaldadas legalmente. Para tanto, a pesquisa remete à Política Nacional de Gestão Territorial e Ambiental de Terras Indígenas instituída pelo Decreto Federal nº 7.747/2012. Enfoca a sua atual aplicabilidade e a interpreta por meio de uma visão crítica dentro da realidade indígena no Brasil atual, tecendo considerações de como essas normatizações podem ser aprimoradas por meio da concepção de território por parte da população indígena. |
| Abstract: | The concept of territory and its full clarification with indigenous communities has contributed to a better organization of these populations in the search for better alternatives for the environmental management of Indigenous Lands. The article works to reveal the main conceptions of the territory, mainly in what corresponds to the indigenous perception of their own lands, the need to demarcate them in an institutional and legally supported way. Therefore, the research refers to the Política Nacional de Gestão Territorial e Ambiental de Terras Indígenas established by Federal Decree No. 7747/2012. It focuses on its current applicability and interprets it through a critical view of the indigenous reality in Brazil today, considering how these norms can be improved through the conception of territory by the indigenous population. |
