Abstract: This research aimed to project the design of an eco-effective waste collector to be used as a playful complementary tool to teach environmental education content in children's schools. The eco-effectiveness of this design project was achieved by considering the whole product system - commercial, ecological and pedagogical - and the potential effects of these choices. For this, changes in the material and structure of an existing trash garbage can were proposed. Glued laminated bamboo (GLB) presented itself as an alternative low environmental impact material that promotes sustainable development due to its fast growth and because it does not need to be replanted after being cut. From the structure of the existing trash garbage can, fittings were planned to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the final product by the students at school. For the commercial planning of this product, a system was developed that identifies agents with geographical proximity with potential to operate in joint collaboration in order to strengthen and foster local economies. And a manual was prepared to instruct the school about the correct use of the proposed waste collector, with suggestions for educational activities made possible by the playful interaction with the collector.
