| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | O texto examina os modos pelos quais foram ordenados os acontecimentos e problemáticas para a invenção da escrita da História do Ceará. Destaca-se uma comparação entre as obras Iracema (1865) e História da Província do Ceará (1867). Entende-se, então, que a delimitação de temas passa necessariamente por determinados valores que orientam as relações que o presente estabelece com o passado e o futuro. |
| Abstract: | The present text examines the ways in which the events and problematics were sorted for the invention of writing of the history of Ceará. It stands out a comparison between the works Iracema (1865) and History of the Ceará Province (1867). It is understood, then, that the division of topics is necessarily determined by values that guide the relationship that present establishes with the past and the future. |
