| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | A oralidade constitui um rico manancial que revela aspectos que nos pareciam insignificantes, propiciando uma nova compreensão da vida urbana. Quanto mais velho o depoente mais rica a informação prestada. Além do senso de responsabilidade, que a sociedade atribui aos idosos, por valorizarem o trabalho, as opções de lazer eram reconhecidas por eles como significativas e socializantes. |
| Abstract: | Oral narratives are rich sources that bring abour aspects thar we used to consider as insignificant and promote a new comprehension of urban life. The older is the narrator, the richer is the given information. As the aged people give a great value to work,the society attributes to thern a sense of responsibility. However, the aged people, by thernselves, recognize the leisure activities as significam as weJl as an importam way of socialization. |
