Marrom, preto: memorial de uma realização independente periférica cearense

Abstract

This memorial of the documentary "Marrom, Preto" aims to discuss the processes that took place during the making of the film work Marrom, Preto, a short film that walks between documentary and musical performance, based on the issues of two musical projects by Emiciomar, the Marrom EP and the Preto Álbum. The documentary, serving as the final project for the Film and Audiovisual course at UFC, is a performative documentation of an artistic endeavor in both music and cinema by a young Black artist born in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, developing a Cearense style of hip-hop. The text intends to present references and discuss the issues surrounding the documentary's production processes, addressing and problematizing events that occurred throughout the process and involving the author. The audiovisual work is based on the premise of portraying the experiences of a young rapper and beatmaker from Ceará and the conditions in which they exist within society, extending the thinking to reflect on the formation of the social structures and layers of Ceará. Despite its autobiographical premise, the film delves into the idea of reflecting on the foundations of a racist, bourgeois, patriarchal, and genocidal society.
