Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: Embora as propriedades físico-químicas sejam essenciais para a produção e projeto de equipamentos nas indústrias de petróleo e gás, ainda faltam dados para alguns sistemas devido a condições perigosas de temperatura e pressão. Este trabalho fornece um estudo do comportamento volumétrico de três misturas diferentes compostas de nonilfenol etoxilado não iônico surfactante (IGEPAL CO-520, CO-630 e CO-720) + metanol em toda a faixa de composição da fração molar para temperaturas de 313,15 K a 413,15 K e pressões de até 100,0 MPa. Esses sistemas se comportam como um sistema regular líquido, com predominância de contração de volume. Observou-se que para alto teor molar de metanol, há um aumento nas forças coesivas devido ao aumento da cadeia etoxilada em unidades de oxietileno. No entanto, foi observado que as ligações de hidrogênio entre oxigênios éteres e hidrogênios hidroxila diminuem com o aumento temperatura, conforme dado por dados de pressão interna e modelagem PC-SAFT. Além disso, um novo conjunto de parâmetros para o A equação de estado PC-SAFT é fornecida para calcular propriedades volumétricas e derivadas de segunda ordem.
Abstract: Although physicochemical properties are essential for production and equipment design in oil and gas industries, there is still a lack of data for some systems because of hazardous temperature and pressure conditions. This work provides a volumetric behavior study of three different mixtures composed of nonylphenol ethoxylated nonionic surfactant (IGEPAL CO-520, CO-630, and CO-720) + methanol in the entire mole fraction composition range for temperatures from 313.15 K to 413.15 K and pressures up to 100.0 MPa. These systems behave as a regular liquid, with a volume contraction predominance. It was observed that for high methanol molar content, there is an increase in the cohesive forces because of the ethoxylated chain increases in oxyethylene units. Nevertheless, it was observed that the hydrogen bonds between ether oxygens and hydroxyl hydrogens decrease by increasing temperature, as given by internal pressure data and PC-SAFT modeling. Besides, a new set of parameters for the PC-SAFT equation of state is provided to calculate volumetric and second-order derivative properties.
