A Paisagem sonora da escola Waldir Leopércio em Varjota: um passeio através dos sons. 2023

Abstract

The present research arises from the idea of carrying out a sound mapping of the Waldir Leopércio Municipal Elementary School, in the city of Varjota-CE. This study was carried out through a series of workshops on soundscape, carried out by the Training Axis of the Music at School extension project, in which the theme emerged during the year 2019. There were studies related to the theme carried out in the municipality. The starting question of this study was: What are the sounds that make up the soundscape of the Waldir eopércio School in Varjota-CE? The general objective was to identify and analyze the representative soundscape of the school. In addition, as specific objectives, it was to contextualize the data on the municipality of Varjota and on the Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Waldir Leopércio, in addition to registering and describing the identifiable sound marks of the local soundscape. It is, therefore, an observational case study, focusing on the investigation of the school context. Noises, sounds and decibels were collected and analyzed using an audio recorder and a decibel meter application. Therefore, the research evidenced the soundscape and its relevance in the everyday life of the Municipal School of Elementary Education Waldir Leopércio, in the city of Varjota-CE, as well as for the entire student body, and for the employees of that place, seeking to consciously expose and dialogue about the sounds and noises that make up the soundscape.
