Cultivo de camarão marinho Penaeus vannamei, em uma fazenda no município de Itarema/CE

Abstract

The marine shrimp farming is an activity that contributes to the country's economy, generating jobs and food, which makes an internship extremely important to complement the academic training of Fisheries Engineer who wish to work in this area. Thus, the objective of the internship was to acquire knowledge about the cultivation of shrimp Penaeus vannamei and monitor the day-to-day production, observing the activities that are carried out. The internship took place on a farm in the county of Itarema/CE, where the semi-intensive system is used, in excavated ponds. The water used is collected through pumps in the Aracati-Mirim River estuary, and the following activities were monitored: drainage, preparation and fertilization of the ponds; the settlement with post-larvae (PL’s); food management; periodic biometrics and; shrimp harvesting. At the end of the internship, it can be concluded that it is an extremely important activity for applying and aggregating the knowledge acquired in the classroom and combining it with practical knowledge about shrimp production, which makes it extremely important for the student who wants to work in the shrimp farming sector, in addition to obtaining good professional training.
