Abstract

In this present Course Completion Work, which uses the autobiographical narrative method, the author revisits life experiences and their importance for her teaching training. In this way, its object of study is the experiences that led to self-knowledge and autonomy as a tool for emancipation and purpose that occurred from basic education until the creation of this work, at the end of graduation. Among the objectives are: to describe the experiences in which autonomy and self-knowledge were present and which promoted important reflections for the future teacher, dialoguing with authors who have a similar focus. Furthermore, broaden the perspectives of teacher training from an autobiographical bias. The methodological path was based on the report of lived experiences, interpreting their meaning in the author's trajectory and analyzing the key moments that led to the present work. Therefore, the theoretical foundation is based on Lani-Bayle (2008), Josso (2008), among other authors, justifying the use of this narrative method, aiming to value research that involves the subjects of the research itself, emphasizing the importance of these for the field of education. Through the interaction between the different experiences narrated and the chosen authors, the importance of experiences in all aspects of higher education becomes evident, also highlighting the meaning of choosing a teaching career in the current context of the Brazilian educational system.
