Formas de aplicação da flexibilidade arquitetônica em projetos de edifícios residenciais multifamiliares

Abstract

This research work discusses the concept of flexibility as applied to housebuilding projects. Apart from a throughout review of literature, whose concepts more akin to the manufacturing industry were translated to the building sector, a field survey was conducted encopassing 64 different building projects in 17 cities in Brazil. Four conceptual forms of flexibility were found The research work concludes by stressing the need to explore the flexibility concept in order to make it easier to fit the new home owners to their desired dwelling, not only in the moment of its aquisition but also through its life time.
