| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Com o intuito de contribuir com a diminuição da lacuna de conhecimento sobre as características das embarcações do Espírito Santo, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo principal realizar a caracterização da frota pesqueira no litoral sul do Espírito Santo, com ênfase no município de Itapemirim, no distrito de Itaipava. A partir dos dados coletados foram registradas 331 embarcações. Entre os apetrechos de pesca, o espinhel teve a maior participação nas embarcações pesqueiras de Itaipava, seguido da linha e da rede de espera. Houve uma incidência maior de embarcações com comprimento de 12 a 14 metros, arqueação bruta de 0 a 5, propulsão motorizada, número de tripulantes igual a 2 e período de fabricação entre 2000 e 2005. Considerando as variáveis analisadas neste estudo, podemos observar que a frota de Itaipava é bastante diversificada, que se alterou de, essencialmente, pequeno porte a uma frota com maior porte após o direcionamento na construção de embarcações maiores entre 1995 e 2005 para a pesca de atuns e afins. Com isso, a frota pesqueira avaliada tem grande participação na economia pesqueira do Espírito Santo devido a sua relativa alta capacidade de carga e recursos pesqueiros de elevada importância econômica. |
| Abstract: | To fill the gaps of knowledge about the vessels characteristics of Espírito Santo, the present work aimed to characterize the fishing fleet on the south coast of Espírito Santo, with emphasis on the municipality of Itapemirim, in the district of Itaipava. From the collected data were recorded 331 vessels. Among the fishing gears, the longline had the highest participation in the fishing vessels of Itaipava, followed by the line and the gillnet. There was a higher incidence of vessels with a length of 12 to 14 meters, gross tonnage from 0 to 5, motorized propulsion, number of crew from 12 to 16, and manufacturing period between 2000 and 2005. Considering the variables analyzed in this study, we can observe that the Itaipava fleet is quite diversified, which has changed from essentially small to a larger fleet after focusing the construction of larger vessels between 1995 and 2005 for tuna and tuna-like fishing. With this, the evaluated fishing fleet has a large participation in the fishing economy of Espírito Santo due to its relative high load capacity and fishing resources of high economic value. |
