Uma discussão sobre o LER: literatura, engenharia e reflexões - um projeto de incentivo à leitura, cultura e arte nos Cursos de Engenharia da UFC

Abstract

The LER - Literature, Engineering and Reflections - was elaborated with the intention of promoting, to the Technology Center students of the Federal University of Ceará, incentives to the reading in its diverse forms. In a predominantly technical environment, the LER aims to provide a space for discussion and questioning, structured in such a way as to encourage the development of students critical sense and human formation, especially the engineering courses students of the UFC. Guiding the actions of the project, we highlight the following activities: visits to the city’s and University’s cultural and artistic equipment, dissemination of cultural events and the appreciation of various types of art, broadening the world view of participants in these actions. The project is also responsible for leading and running a reading club and for maintaining a literary blog and a book-sharing shelf. The LER members consider the project as a differentiated intervention in Engineering courses, having been developed with the objective of modifying paradigms and enabling a greater opportunity of expression and reflection for the students. The expectation is that those who participate in the LER project can have a training based on essential human values, developing a greater capacity for reflection, critical sense and expression.
