Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: O artigo apresenta a filosofia de Hegel como base teórica segundo a qual o filósofo Francis Fukuyama tece suas considerações a respeito do fim da História. Apresentamos um resumo da filosofia de Hegel que afirma que o reconhecimento é a base das relações sociais, assim como a política liberal seria a mais propícia para a o reconhecimento da dignidade humana. Desta forma, Fukuyama nos apresenta os argumentos que o levaram a proclamar o fim da História, com base nos argumentos enunciados anteriormente por Hegel.
Abstract: The article presents Hegel's philosophy as a theoretical basis according to which the philosopher Francis Fukuyama weaves his considerations about the end of History. We present a summary of Hegel's philosophy that states that recognition is the basis of social relations, just as liberal politics would be the most conducive to the recognition of human dignity. In this way, Fukuyama presents us with the arguments that led him to proclaim the end of history, based on the arguments previously stated by Hegel.
