Abstract

This paper presents the results of the first stage of the application of Analysis Diagnosis methodology of Agrarian Systems with the rural settlement Alegre within the municipality of Quixeramobim-CE during the Internship Experience of the Agrarian Residency Program (PRA), performed by students from Agronomic Sciences, Federal University of Ceará (UFC). To perform the diagnosis, two social subjects integrated the study: young settlers and technical agents to identify and characterize the productive organization of the rural settlement. As a methodological procedure, we used landscape observation and historic interviews to make the zoning of the agrarian system. The results identified 5 areas (legal reserve, agriculture, livestock, grazing and productive backyards). The Agrarian System of the rural settlement Alegre is composed of rain-based agriculture through the cultivation of grains, mainly beans and maize, mixed crop-livestock system, productive backyard system, breeding of small animals, mostly for home consumption. These informations will subsidize the next steps of the methodology.
