Os segredos socioculturais por detrás dos nomes da etnia bakongo: a língua e a cultura em debate

Abstract

There are societies in that the linguistic phenomenon ‘thename’ receives great respect. This is because attribution ofthe name is cultural and arises from the socio-anthropologicalneed of the human being. We attribute names to animate andinanimate beings, visible and invisible at all times (TIMBANE& COELHO, 2018). Cultulinguistic studies the relations be-tween culture and linguistics of a people or ethnic group. The present research aims at analyzing and discussing the attribu-tion of the name in the culture of the Bakongo of Angola. Itis a bibliographical research that the search for and collectionof information from parents, grandparents and elders sought tounderstand the meanings that the name carries. After analysisit was concluded that the name carries elements of the culturein addition to transmitting a Bakong sociocultural identity.
