| Resumen en portugués brasileño: | Estudos focados no entendimento da histologia testicular de répteis são relativamente escassos. Para a espécie Ameivula ocellifera, detalhes da morfologia histológica dos testículos não são conhecidos. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho caracterizou a morfologia histológica do testículo de A. ocellifera, fornecendo informações úteis à compreensão da biologia reprodutiva da espécie. As células do epitélio germinativo apresentaram-se semelhantes morfologicamente às células de outros répteis já descritos. Entre os túbulos seminíferos, observou-se pouco tecido intersticial, mas com quantidade relativamente alta de células de Leydig, presentes em todos os estágios reprodutivos descritos para a espécie. O núcleo das células de Sertoli apresentou formato variável, geralmente localizado na base do epitélio germinativo. As células da linhagem espermatogênica apresentaram semelhanças morfológicas e estruturais bastante parecidas àquelas descritas para outros répteis. A constatação do processo de espermiogênese acontecendo ao longo do ano, reafirma a classificação reprodutiva contínua da espécie. A descrição da histologia realizada neste trabalho permite estudos histológicos comparativos entre répteis e fornece informações úteis ao desenvolvimento de outros trabalhos para a espécie. |
| Abstract: | Studies focused on understanding the testicular histology reptiles are relatively scarce. For the species Ameivula ocellifera, details of histological morphology of testis are not known. Thus, this study characterized the histological morphology of testicular A. ocellifera, providing useful information to understand the reproductive biology of the species. The germinal epithelium cells were similar morphologically to the cells of other reptiles already described. Among the seminiferous tubules was observed little interstitial tissue but relatively high amount of Leydig cells, present in all the reproductive stages described for the species. The nucleus of the Sertoli cells had varying shape, usually located at the base of the germinal epithelium. The cells of the spermatogenic lineage showed morphological and structural similarities quite similar to those described for other reptiles. The finding of spermiogenesis process going on throughout the year, reaffirms the continued reproductive classification of species. The description of the histology performed this work allows comparative histological studies between reptiles and provides useful information for the development of other works for the species. |
