O conceito de representação no contexto da Ciência da Informação: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

Abstract

Introduction: This article presents the results of the research whose objective is to reflect on the assumptions and premises of the concept of representation in the various areas of knowledge and their applicability in the context of Information Science. Method: The methodology of analysis was supported by the systematic review of the literature (RSL) by means of a survey of scientific papers published in the annals of the ISKO-Brazil Congress and the National Meeting of Research in Information Science (ENANCIB), from 2012 to 2016 Of the total of 429 articles published in these events, seven met the inclusion criteria. Result: The results pointed out that few authors use the term "representation" as a theoretical support for their works, but most present a conceptual reflection on the term, relating it to something, such as: information representation, knowledge representation, among others. Conclusion: It was considered that the representation for Information Science has always been part of the work of enabling the retrieval and access to information of the various collections present in the most diverse collections, available in both print and electronic or digital media.
