Redefinição do livro em seus novos suportes: uma reflexão sobre o livro eletrônico como recurso tecnológico

Abstract

Mankind has gained some privileges over time, and among them is access to information and technology. It is within this context that this work of literature review aims to make a reflection on the redefinition of the books in their new media, addressing the use of electronic book as a technological resource. Making a bailout of the book in its various media, from their existence on strips of silk to the creation of digital book and its influence on the creation of virtual libraries, electronic libraries, digital libraries and hybrid libraries, which group supports unconventional, facilitating the spread information in real time. Focuses on redefining the role of the librarian as an information professional and a reflection on the controversy - "The virtual book will replace the printed book?" The methodology used in the investigative process is aligned with the qualitative aspect. Regarding technical procedures are the same classified as literature or secondary sources. this study shows that e-books still do not guarantee longevity of its use, as well as the loss of data in this kind of media data loss in this type of media that is larger than in the middle printed communications. Therefore, a technology can not be ruled out due to the arrival of another. shows also that there is a need to upgrade the Brazilian law that deals with copyright to ensure the legal deposit of electronic books, because there is no specific legislation for legal and social implications of unrestricted diffusion of digital books (e-books).
