| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Esta tese é um estudo sobre o antropólogo León Cadogan e sua produção acadêmica a respeito dos Guarani. As obras analisadas, de modo central, são o livro Ayvu Rapyta e o dicionário MbyaGuarani/Castellano. A pesquisa investiga como a pessoa de León Cadogan reverbera o saber metafísico mbya, em especial, sua “teoria da palavra”. O enfoque é sobre as traduções, as metafísicas e os engajamentos políticos envolvidos nos processos de produção antropológica. |
| Abstract: | This thesis is about the León Cadogan’s anthropological production, especially Ayvu Rapyta and the dictionary Mbya-Guarani/Castellano. The aim is to explore and understand how the metaphysics present in the works of Cadogan resembles the metaphysics mbya-guarani of the word. This thesis will examine the relationships between translation, metaphysics and politics that shaped the anthropological work done by León Cadogan and the Mbya-Guarani. |
