Agricultura familiar sustentável no distrito de Jaibaras, Sobral (CE): uma proposta de índice de sustentabilidade agroecológica

Abstract

This paper deals with the theme of family farming and has as research outline the district of Jaibaras, located in the municipality of Sobral, north of Ceará. The authors applied 136 forms in eight communities of the district with the objective of identifying the level of knowledge about practices for the preservation of the environment and application of techniques gardens of planting. The data obtained were used in the construction of an index that verifies the sustainability family in the field. It was found that the district of Jaibaras has a low index of sustainability family. In spite of some communities demonstrate best indicators that other, it is seen that the locality still lacks of actions that may contribute to the improvement of the relationship human-nature.
