| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Através do romance de Rachel de Queiroz – Memorial de Maria Moura – o presente artigo analisa a imagem da mulher brasileira manifestada nessa obra, no que diz respeito ao espaço que ocupa no contexto da família patriarcal e da sociedade brasileira. As diversas intrigas que, respondendo a modos particulares de desenvolvimento das relações sociais e políticas no Brasil, costuram a novela, são apresentadas paradigmaticamente como espelho da sociedade da época. A concepção das brigas e das questões que decorrem da história no Memorial de Maria Moura é o “fio condutor” das diferentes atribuições que a literatura sociológica e antropológica brasileira tem dado à mulher brasileira daquela época. |
| Abstract: | Based on Raquel de Queiroz’s novel Memorial de Maria Moura, this article intends to analyze the image of the Brazilian woman in this book,regarding its position in the patriarchal family and in Brazilian society at large. The several intrigues, which, responding to particular ways of developing social and politic relationships in Brazil, constitutes the novel, will be presented paradigmatically as a mirror of Brazilian society of those times. The conceptions concerning the fights and the issues in the story in Memorial de Maria Moura will be the connected to the various attributes which Brazilian sociological and anthropological literature has given to the Brazilian woman of those times. |
