As principais dificuldades na aplicação do Scrum para o gerenciamento de projetos de software

Abstract

This study focuses on identifying and analyzing the main challenges faced by teams in applying the Scrum framework to software project management. The overall objective is to understand how these difficulties affect the practical use of the methodology and to propose reflections on approaches that may help mitigate their impact. To this end, the following specific objectives were defined: to present the main concepts related to project management and the Scrum framework; to conduct a survey with students and professionals in the field of technology; to identify the most recurring difficulties in the use of Scrum; and to analyze their effects on project execution and outcomes. Addressing this topic is justified by the growing adoption of Scrum in organizations and the need to understand the barriers that hinder its effectiveness, especially in environments where resistance to change, communication failures, and lack of training are common. This is an applied research of exploratory and descriptive nature, with results treated quantitatively through a survey conducted with 74 participants familiar with Scrum. Based on the data collection and analysis, it was possible to conclude that, although the methodology is widely accepted and offers benefits such as increased productivity and improved project control, its successful implementation depends on factors such as leadership support, a collaborative organizational culture, and team readiness. The study also revealed that Scrum is often adapted to fit the company’s reality, but not always in a structured way, which may compromise value delivery and continuous improvement.
