| Abstract: | This work deals with the relationship between housing demand and supply. A survey was conducted in a Sales Fair in 1997 in Florianópolis- Santa Catarina with 343 potencial building clients. After this database was compared with the supply of new construction at that moment. The results show differences on housing preferences and opportunities and give insights on the final choice of the dwelling. The paper also gives hints for housing developers on how to design products more in line with demand and lack of supply by the market. |
