O Clube dos Príncipes: 100 anos de história do Maguary

Abstract

This report recounts the creative and foundational process for the book-report “O Clube dos Príncipes: 100 anos de História do Maguary”, which tells the story of Sport Club Maguary, Ceará's fourth-largest champion of men's professional football and a social association of relevance for Fortaleza society between the 1940s and 1970s, but which declined both in terms of sports and social activities. As a general objective, the work aims to report the main events in the club's history, and as specific objectives, to investigate its influence in the sporting and social sphere, to gather sources that deal with experiences and wisdom related to the research object during the period from 1924 to 2024 and identify the reasons for the closure of sporting and social activities. As a method, documentary and bibliographical research was carried out, in addition to semi-structured interviews. The final product presents, through a chronological narrative, events that marked the 100-year trajectory of Sport Club Maguary, which comprised 4 parts corresponding to different historical moments and distributed across 11 chapters.
