O que aconteceu a David? O terror e suas potências

Abstract

This memorial is a dive into the process of developing the script for the feature film “O Que Aconteceu a David?”. The memorial is designed in such a way that, first, there is a tour of the screenwriter's journey until he identifies the restlessness that led him to tell this story, as well as the historical and social processes that are part of this context. Then, the work investigates the LGBTQ + struggle for rights and the depatologization of homotransexuality, as well as delving into the practices of sexual reorientation therapies, or conversion therapy, in Brazil and worldwide. To then go deeper into the choices made in the construction of the script, among them, the choice of terror as a genre, as well as the subgenres of terror that are worked on throughout the script and the political power of horror films. At the end, there is an analysis of the use of the Ferramentas do Eixo set as a method to achieve greater narrative awareness and the Nutshell Technique method to structure a script. “O Que Aconteceu a David?” It is born out of fear and talks about a fear that anyone who does not fits themself in the heteronormative norms that govern our society feels or has felt. The fear of not being loved, the fear of not being able to be who you are, but mostly the fear of becoming a victim of hate and having everything you love destroyed by the horror of intolerance.
