Vulnerabilidade social e estrutura de oportunidade na Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza: o IFCE Caucaia

Here is the translation of the text into English: Driven by urbanization and economic importance, the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (RMF) was institutionalized in 1973, promoting socio-spatial changes that have created social vulnerability among the population. This study aimed to analyze the municipality of Caucaia from the perspective of social vulnerability, highlighting economic growth in contrast to human development, and examining the Federal Institute of Caucaia not only as a means created in the municipality to meet the demands of the industrial economic process but also as an entity with added social value. The objective is to qualitatively understand the impacts on the lives of young people in comprehensive technical training. The methodology included research starting from the analysis of social vulnerability indices, correlating data on students with the active resources of the campus. Preliminary results indicate that the Institute plays an important role in the expansion of the RMF and in municipal planning, demonstrating effectiveness in relation to social vulnerability indicators.
