Adaptação transcultural e validação da escala Interpersonal Quality of Family Planning: aplicação em mulheres brasileiras

Abstract

The objective was to transculturally adapt the scale Interpersonal Quality of Family Planning (IQFP) to the Portuguese language in the Brazilian context. Methodological investigation, carried out in a population of the Center-South Region of the State of Ceará. The authorization of the author of the scale was carried out, and the two phases were fulfilled: 1) Cross-cultural adaptation; 2) Verification of psychometric properties, validity and reliability. In phase 1, the sample from step 1 to 5 of the cross-cultural adaptation process of the IQFP was composed of: bilingual translators, health professionals with knowledge in the scale's source language, specialists in the subject and the population strata of the target population. The phase 2 sample consisted of 125 women of reproductive age who attended the health unit for gynecological care and used a contraceptive method during the period from January to May 2022, through the application of the IQFP and a form with sociodemographic and reproductive information. The results of the IQFP cross-cultural adaptation process for the Brazilian context, as well as its final version, were presented in tables and analyzed descriptively. For content validation, the Content Validation Index (CVI) was used. Exploratory Factor Analyzes (EFA) were performed using the Factor software, version 12.01.02, with the objective of evaluating the factor structure of the IQFP scale, using a polychoric matrix and the Robust Diagonally Weighted Least Squares (RDWLS) extraction method. Factor stability was evaluated using the H index. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed using the Jasp software, version 0.16.04, with the objective of evaluating the plausibility of a unidimensional structure for the Brazilian version of the IQFP. The adjustment indices used were: chi-square ( 2 ); chi-square over degrees of freedom ( 2 /gl); CFI; TLI; RMSEA and Standardized Root Mean Residual (SRMR). The research was approved under Opinion nº3.284.052. The Brazilian version of the IQFP was considered valid in terms of content, reaching a total CVI of 1.00, being considered comprehensible and relevant to the contemporary context. As for evidence of validity based on the internal structure, Bartlett's sphericity tests (1375.8, gl = 55, p < 0.0001) and the Kaiser–Meyer– Olkin criterion (KMO = 0.84) were performed, suggesting interpretability of the item correlation matrix, as well as the parallel analysis suggested a factor as being the most representative for the data. The composite reliability (CC) was also acceptable (0.974), as well as the replicability measure of the factorial structure (H-index = 0.978), which suggests a well-defined latent variable. Regarding the Item Response Theory (IRT), regarding the thresholds of the items, no unexpected response pattern was found. As for the CFA, the results found confirmed the unidimensional structure of the Brazilian version of the IQFP scale, and all items had adequate factor loadings. As for the association between the sociodemographic variables and the scale score, there was a statistically significant association in the variables related to age group and presence of a partner. Therefore, it is inferred that the Brazilian version of the IQFP presented a unidimensional characteristic, with satisfactory factor loadings and good levels of reliability, signaling an instrument with evidence of a consistent and reliable internal structure for measuring the desired construct.
