| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | A busca pelo manejo responsável dos recursos naturais constitui uma das principais necessidades para combater à degradação do solo, principalmente da Caatinga brasileira. Para isso é essencial que a realidade de quem usa a terra nessa região seja estudada. Nesta conjuntura, o Ceará se destaca por ser um estado que 95% do seu território se encontram no semiárido e que para manter sua produção agropecuária precisa diminuir a cobertura vegetal natural. Este artigo objetiva analisar a dinâmica do uso da terra no Ceará no período de 1985 a 2019. Para tanto, foram utilizados os dados estatísticos extraídos do Projeto MapBiomas com intervalos de 5 anos, comparando-os a partir da utilização de mapas em escala de pixel 30m, contemplando todo o território cearense. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que o Ceará sofreu uma grande redução das florestas (natural e plantada) principalmente nos anos de 1985, 2000 e 2019 e um aumento gradativo das áreas ocupadas pela agropecuária no mesmo período. Observou-se a expansão do uso e ocupação da terra no estado, diminuindo as regiões de vegetação a partir de 2000, confirmando a expansão da transição da cobertura vegetal para o uso antrópico da terra focado na agropecuária. |
| Abstract: | The search for responsible management of natural resources is one of the main needs to combat soil degradation, especially in the Brazilian Caatinga. For this, it is essential that the reality of those who use the land in this region be studied. In this context, Ceará stands out for being a state in which 95% of its territory is located in the semiarid region and to maintain its agricultural production, it needs to reduce the natural vegetation cover. This article aims to analyze the dynamics of land use in Ceará from 1985 to 2019. For this purpose, statistical data extracted from the MapBiomas Project with 5-year intervals were used, comparing them using pixel-scale maps 30m, covering the entire territory of Ceará. The results obtained showed that Ceará suffered a great reduction of forests (natural and planted) mainly in the years 1985, 2000 and 2019 and a gradual increase in the areas occupied by agriculture in the same period. The expansion of land use and occupation in the state was observed, decreasing the vegetation regions from 2000, confirming the expansion of the transition from vegetation cover to anthropic land use focused on agriculture and livestock. |
