| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | O estudo analisa os financiadores do investimento no Brasil e fornece subsídios ao debate relativo à extorsiva carga tributária vigente. Modelos vetoriais autoregressivos indicam a existência de co-movimentos entre a taxa de investimentos e tributos no Brasil entre 1947 e 2005, mas uma correlação negativa de 64% no período pós-1990, o que reforça o argumento de que a desoneração fiscal é a meta para consecução de uma trajetória de crescimento sustentado. Ademais, a modelagem utilizada nos exercícios de previsão indica uma taxa de investimentos crescente e superior a 17% do PIB para o período 2006-2010. |
| Abstract: | This paper analyses the financing of investment in Brazil and provide subsidies to the debate related to the unacceptable level of fax charge. Vector autoregressive models indicate the existence of co-movements between the level of investments and the taxes rates in Brazil in the period 1947-2005, in spite of a correlation of -64% in the post-1990, which reinforces the argument that the tax relief is the goal to achieve a path of sustained growth. Furthermore, forecasts exercises developed indicates an increasing rate of investment higher than 17% of GDP for the period 2006-2010. |
