| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Este artigo aborda a emergência da crítica de arte em Fortaleza dos anos 1940, especificamente na segunda metade dessa década. Direcionamos nosso estudo para imprensa, por ser um espaço de atuação da intelectualidade cearense. Delimitamos o trabalho para a crítica realizada aos artistas expositores dos Salões de Abril, que eram mostras artísticas até então promovidas pela Sociedade Cearense de Artes Plásticas (SCAP). Dentre as matérias de jornais que comentavam sobre tais exposições, selecionamos analisar nesse momento, as que além de divulgar a mostra também elaboraram comentários a respeito dos artistas participantes e das obras expostas. Os textos que serão mencionados foram escritos, em sua grande maioria, por Antonio Girão Barroso, Braga Montenegro e Otacílio Colares. Alguns desses textos foram discursos e pronunciamentos proferidos nas aberturas dos Salões e que foram transcritos pelos jornais. |
| Abstract: | This article discusses about the emergency of art criticism in Fortaleza 1940s, specifically in the second half of this decade. We focused our study to the press, as an acting area of intellectuals in Ceara. We delimited our research to the criticism made to exhibitors artists of April salons, which were artistic productions so far promoted by the Cearense Society of Plastic Arts (SCAP). Aiming to analyze that time, we chose some articles of newspapers that mentioned such exposures and there were those in addition to publicize the exhibition also made some comments on the participating artists and their works. The texts to be mentioned were written, mostly by Antonio Girão Barroso, Braga Montenegro and Otacílio Colares. Some of these texts were delivered speeches and pronouncements in the openings of the halls, which were transcribed by newspapers. |
