Abstract: | We present a numerical study of optical signals propagation and switching by using cascaded nonlinear directional couplers based on photonic crystal fibers (NLDCPCF). We have explored the device’s potential for energy switching by changing the input power for the use of modulated pulses with PAM-ASK. With pulses temporal width of 100 fs, we have considered the influence of high order dispersion effects such as third order dispersion. We have considered too the nonlinear self-steepening, intrapulse Raman scattering and selfphase modulation effects. We have analyzed the device’s transmission of energy efficiency with pump power around the critical power. |
