Educação para o trânsito como tema transversal do currículo no Ensino Fundamental I

Abstract

This text was elaborated with the objective of knowing how the DETRAN/CE Transit Education School addressed the theme of "traffic" in regular schools, as well as to reflect on their inclusion in the elementary school curriculum. Among the authors and sources used as theoretical references, the concepts of Cruz and Cruz (2011) and Gallo (2000) on transversality are highlighted; the legal aspects brought by the National Education Guidelines and Basis Law (Brazil, 1996), the National Curricular Parameters (Brazil, 1997) and the Brazilian Transit Traffic Code (Brazil, 1997) and the discussion on the role of the school developed by PINTO and CUNHA (2013). Qualitative research focused on the techniques of observation, interview, semiopen questionnaire, and the use of annotations. The research field was the DETRAN / CE Traffic School, located in the Maraponga District, in Fortaleza/CE. After analyzing the data, it was possible to developed by DETRAN/CE, through the traffic education school, provides essential learning for the construction of ethical and human values and contributes significantly to the recognition of the importance of mainstreaming the subject in regular education, especially at the level elementary. The conclusions point to the relevance of the discussion about its inclusion as a cross-cutting theme in the initial years, but also notes that the Public Power needs to plan more expressive measures regarding compliance with what is in the law, through investments in public policies with the performance of the segments responsible for education and transit traffic.
