| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | O presente artigo pretende investigar as principais etapas de realização e alguns desdobramentos do filme Abry, média-metragem dirigido por Joel Pizzini no ano de 2003. O documentário é construído a partir do discurso da mãe do cineasta Glauber Rocha, Lúcia, que, aos 84 anos de idade, interna-se num hospital para fazer exames no coração. Ao receber a notícia sobre o risco de vida que corria ela descreve a sua trajetória e a do Tempo Glauber, instituição criada por ela para reunir e divulgar a obra completa de Glauber Rocha, audiovisual e escrita. Reunindo grande variedade de imagens de arquivo, Abry articula os mecanismos da memória e montagem, criando e recriando documentos históricos, atribuindo–lhes novas percepções e sentidos. |
| Abstract: | The present article intends to investigate the main stages of realization and some unfoldings of the film Abry, a medium-length film directed by Joel Pizzini in the year 2003. The documentary is constructed from the discourse of the mother of filmmaker Glauber Rocha, Lúcia, who at 84 Years old, went to a hospital for heart exams. On receiving the news about her life risk, she describes her trajectory and that of Tempo Glauber, an institution she created to gather and publicize Glauber Rocha's complete audiovisual and written work. Gathering a wide variety of archive images, Abry articulates the mechanisms of memory and montage, creating and recreating historical documents, attributing to them new perceptions and meanings. |
