| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | Na filosofia contemporânea, diversos autores procuram resgatar a tradição de uma postura preconceituosa, assim elas são redescobertas pelo seu valor epistemológico, com reconhecimento de que a compreensão humana é constituída em seu interior. Alasdair MacIntyre é um dos autores que faz essa redescoberta. Ele defende a tese de que a tradição é o lugar próprio da racionalidade. A tradição é um constitutivo fundamental do entendimento racional no âmbito prático. Ele afirma tese de que não existe racionalidade prática fora das tradições. |
| Abstract: | The historical traditions have been sources of inspiration and renewal for a growing number of contemporary philosophers. Alasdair MacIntyre is amongst those who intend to rescue the epistemic value of moral traditions by defending that there is no practical rationality outside them. Therefore, he opposes the negative view of traditions proposed by the philosophers of the Enlightenment and explores moral concepts against their historical backgrounds. |
