Os programas PAA e Pnae na perspectiva do desenvolvimento rural: uma investigação no Assentamento Lagoa do Serrote II (Denir)

Abstract

This work investigates how the Food Acquisition Program (PAA) and the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) contribute to the strategies of rural development in family agriculture. For this, the experience of commercialization of the production of a group of women of the Settlement Lagoon of the Serrote II (Denir), located in the municipality of Ocara, state of Ceará, was taken as reference. In the case study outlined, secondary data were collected on the main themes of the research, and in the field work interviews were conducted with the women representatives of the farming families. The data analyzed demonstrate the potential of the experience, the types of difficulties and the advantages identified by the access to the programs. The research also shows the main changes in its production units and how some institutions contribute to this process. Thus, the importance of this work lies in the possibility of understanding how the rural development experiences in different contexts have been constructed, through specific public policies aimed at family farmers.
