Nomear e (re)categorizar: o papel do nome próprio na referenciação

Abstract

On the theoretical perspective of Textual Linguistics of socio-cognitive-interactionist base line, the referenciation is seen as a process of referential construction that occurs in the discourse and, therefore, the referent has been considered “object of discourse”, without specular relation with the “object-of-world”. So, its construction occurs discursively whereof the verbal interaction in the function of the verbal interlocutors’ communicative purposes. To the social-cultural and interactive construction of referent, the studies realized on this area have emphasize the strategies of referenciation and its discursive functions, but they have discussed so little about the use of proper names. Considering that the proper name assumes important function on the referential (re)construction, this work, fruit of the thesis of doctorate degree (BASSETTO, 2015), aims to present the functioning of proper names used in different contexts of verbal interaction, as strategies of referential construction, not only with designative function, but also attributive one. Therefore, this work defends the relevance of proper name on the referential (re)categorization and, to demonstrate this point of view, some fragments of journalistic texts are selected, emphasizing some particularities of the use of proper names in these discursive situations. So, this work evidences the necessity of considering the proper names in analysis realized by the perspective of Referenciation.
