Abstract

The new society is constituted by a economy based on the information and if it uses of the technologies of information and communication (TICs). Such context creates new chances and defies the professional librarian to rethink its abilities to assume new roles in the work market. The concept of management of the information, professionals of the information and abilities are treated in this article that if fits in the qualitative field and has as theoretical recital the social construction of the reality of Berger and Luckmann, of the social representations of Moscovici and the processualismo of Elias, used to guide the understanding of the dynamics of the society and its mutations. When analyzing the representations of the controllers of the real estate market, in the city of Natal/RN, regarding the abilities necessary to the information manager and to compare them it the profile of the librarian pointed for literature, was proven that the manager of the information does not have a specific formation, what to corroborate for the performance of the librarian in the real estate segment.
