| Abstract in Portuguese: | O artigo tem como objetivo uma tentativa de definição da autoridade competente para declaração de interesse social para fins de obtenção de licença para supressão de vegetação de bioma mata atlântica. Defende-se que o Ministro setorial é quem detém a referida competência. Argumenta-se no sentido de que não se pode presumir competência da Presidência da República. |
| Abstract: | The paper argues in favor of a sectorial Secretary as opposed to the authority of the President of the Republic as for the competent authority for declaring social importance regarding the suppression of Atlantic Forest Biome. It also argues for the impossibility of any presumption regarding the scope of the competences related to the President of the Republic. |
