| Abstract in Brazilian Portuguese: | O presente artigo objetiva um a análise do soneto “God ́s Grandeur” (“A Grandeza de Deus”), escrito pelo poeta britânico, Gerard Manley Hopkins, em 1877 e traduzido para a língua portuguesa por Augusto de Campos no seu livro A Beleza Difícil, publicado em 1997. A análise examina a tradução de Campos quanto a sua fidelidade ao pensamento, à linguagem e à poética do autor. |
| Abstract: | The present article has as its main objective the analysis of the sonnet “God ́s Grandeur”, written by the British poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins, in 1877 and translated into the Portuguese language by Augusto de Campos in his book A Beleza Dificil (A Difficult Beauty), published in 1997. The analysis examines Campos ́s translation and its fidelity in relation to the thought, language and poetic form of the author. |
