| Abstract: | This article discusses the formation of an aespecific neighbourhood - Mooca - in the context of the São Paulo urban and social changes, when images and representations were builc over the new inhabitants, the "nordestinos". To do this, ir uses the notions of neighbourhood, community and society, seeking a theoretical way to understand the historical sources. |
