O processo comunicativo em ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem – uma proposta, um estudo exploratório

Abstract

The technology of the Internet and the WWW revived through the media of the computer and telecommunication the possibility of the" distance teaching", which used to be practised basically with the postal service, radio and TV. More than a vehicle for courses in certain knowledge domains, we argue that the Internet represents a new place to discuss the traditional pedagogic practices. In this work we propose and we discuss the theoretical-methodological presuppositions that guide our conception of distance education and of virtual spaces for learning. We illustrate our discussion with preliminary results of the design and use of Papo-Mania: a chat tool in use by students with the Down Syndrome.
