Inspeção predial da igreja matriz do município de Ocara-CE

Abstract

Buildings are designed to meet the requirements of users. However, over time, the characteristics of the components that constitute the building are modified due to environmental conditions. By preventing the early deterioration of the building's systems and components, interventions and higher costs in the recovery of their characteristics are avoided. Therefore, there must be an analysis of deterioration that makes possible, at any time, the evaluation of the structure for the establishment of the building maintenance program. In this context, building inspection emerges as the process of evaluating the condition of the building in order to include in its analysis the requirements of safety, habitability and sustainability. Although there is no national inspection law in Brazil, in face of many accidents involving the failure of buildings, many Brazilian municipalities have adopted their own legislation in recent years. In view of this and considering the relevance of the subject for civil engineering, this work arises with the objective of promoting the performance of building inspection activities through a case study based on the application of IBAPE building inspection norms. The evaluated building is the Igreja Matriz de Ocara, a place where hundreds of people congregate weekly for religious celebrations and that constitutes an important historical heritage of the city, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. The methodology used follows the IBAPE Standard for Building Inspection, which initially consists in the analysis of the building's documentation and in a technical survey to identify the anomalies and flaws to be later classified and defined according to their priority for intervention through the use of the GUT method. The inspection provides a technical report containing the results found, which includes recommendations for interventions and a photographic report to facilitate the identification of the anomalies and failures found. Through this work, it is verified the importance of building inspection for the safety of buildings, and therefore, it is essential that the public power establishes the mandatory building inspection and with adequate frequency to ensure the prevention of tragic accidents involving the failure of constructive subsystems.
