O mercado de saúde suplementar e a pandemia de covid-19: uma análise do cenário

Abstract

In the year 2020, the news of the pandemic that would become the biggest in history, the COVID-19 pandemic, was released. Several areas had to adapt their operating and business model to adapt to the new reality experienced at the time. This work aims to analyze how one of the markets most affected by the pandemic, the supplementary health market, behaved during the pandemic period, analyzing its revenues and expenses, and showing measures taken by operators and government agencies to deal with the situation. . The present work exposes a qualitative, explanatory and documentary research, it was first observed how the cases of COVID-19 occurred in the country, statistically analyzing each of the regions. After that, it was shown how the supplementary health market behaves in the country, and the importance of costs for maintaining it. Finally, it was shown how the pandemic financially impacted the market, showing the difference between the pre- and post-pandemic period, in order to prove the positive financial impacts caused by the pandemic.
