Estudo exploratório da prática do desenvolvimento de estratégias em empresas de construção civil

Abstract

This paper is the result of a research, made in Belém, Pará, with six construction companies, which work in the civil construction. The research had as its principal objective to know the companies’ strategic management, based on in the concepts of several authors who are reference in the use of strategic planning, mainly Porter (1991). After that was made a comparative study of the strategies used in the companies to manage with the varies of the building industry, checking, consequently, companies’ practices in the developing of competitive strategies. The information were taken through of interviews with companies’ CEOs and besides this, a questionnaire, made in agreement with the five competitive forces by Porter (1991), was applied.
